Rachel Zegler is an American actress, singer and stage performer flourishing in film and theatre. Born May 3, 2001 in Hackensack, New Jersey, she has a rich mixed heritage combining Colombian and Polish decent. She has risen to fame for uploading cover, stage show performance, and some random videos to her self-titled YouTube channel. When she was in school she played various roles in a number of musical shows such as "Shrek the Musical" (2019), "42nd Street" (2018), "The Little Mermaid" (2017) and "Beauty and the Beast" (2016). She also appeared in "Rent", "Thoroughly Modern Millie", "Les Miserables" and "Legally Blonde". In 2021 she landed the starring role of Maria in the Steven Spielberg directed adaptation musical romantic drama film "West Side Story" and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy. In 2023 she played Anthea in "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" and Lucy Gray Baird in "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes".
